My dog Teagan and me

My dog Teagan and me

Hi! My name is Ellie Potts and I am a 31 year old graduate of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. I graduated in 2004 with a degree in Communications. My experiences at Mercer have taught me many things that I use in my daily life such as leadership skills, technology abilities, and teamwork skills.

I am also involved with different volunteer organizations such as AmeriCorps, Life Transitions Alliance, and tutoring in elementary schools. As an advisor in Life Transitions Alliance, I helped disabled students transition from high school to post-secondary education. This group consisted of special education coordinators, business people in the community, and myself.

When I am not volunteering, some of my favorite hobbies include traveling, listening to music, hanging out with friends, and most importantly going to UGA football games. Go Dawgs!

In doing this blog, I hope to facilitate an open and honest conversation between the readers and myself on a variety of topics. I see my wheelchair as an asset, not a liability. Hopefully readers of this blog will soon see the same thing.
